5-Element Nutrition

This course looks at how food is used as medicine.  In the Taoist hierarchy of healing, diet and nutrition is 3rd on the list of healing methods, just after meditation and mind-body exercise.  According to Chinese medicine, improper diet is one of the main causes of all disease and illness.

This course is taught in a series of 12 2-hour workshops.  Take them all, or pick and choose the ones that interest you most.  We guarantee your experience of food will never be the same again!

Certification is offered for those that complete all 12 workshops plus additional case study homework.

Essential Oils & Chinese Medical Aromatherapy

Essential Oils

Essential oils can be compared to the Jing (vital essence) of the plant.  We can use the aroma to set a mood or strongly influence our emotions.  Essential oils are also powerful herbal substances that can be used topically, and sometimes even ingested.  We can use these wonderful plant substances to treat a variety of health issues - like the common cold, digestive issues, headaches, herpes, insomnia, and so much more.

Essential oils are such a fabulous area to study.  Whether you want to use them with yourself and family, or if you are a professional health care provider, this course is designed to provide solid (and Fun!) information in a well-organized manner, and make sure that students don't just read a book - you have to really use the oils and play with the information. Participants will be knowledgeable, confident, and effective when they complete the course.

The course is taught in a series of 12 2-hour workshops, with homework to be done for each topic.  All workshops and homework must be completed within 2 years.
